Extremis (www.extremis.be), an award winning Belgian design company, organizes in collaboration with AnamorFose a photo contest about tools for togetherness.
Extremis has a design philosophy that is quite unique in the world of design furniture and accessories: the basic principle of this design approach is that Extremis wishes to improve and offer added value to any moment of togetherness.
But what is togetherness and what does it mean to the outside world, they wonder at Extremis.
Does togetherness mean the same thing in France as it does in Japan? Does it mean that a lot of people are together or just a few? Are they having a good time or not?
As from September 2007 people has been asked to send Extremis their picture of an ideal moment of togetherness amongst people and the tool they use for it. The jury had the difficult task to nominate 10 pictures and one head prize winner out of more than 400 entries.
The jury consisted of:
Xavier Debeerst
founder of AnamorFose, specialist in vintage and rare photography
Christoph Ruys
Director Photography Museum, Antwerpen, Belgium
Nina De Man
trend researcher for The Future Laboratory, tv and radio presenter
