Albéric Heyvaert, Elza in the garden,
+/- 1906, Belgium,No inscriptions,Vintage silver print, Excellent,Not mounted,16,7 X 11,8 cm
Alberic Heyvaert (1875 - 1957) was an amateur photographer from Bruges. He was judge and member of the local establishment. With this description, the maker in fact presented himself as a professional photographer with no commercial ambitions, typical of the fin de siècle. Such a position was defended and upheld by such photographic clubs as the Cercle Photographique de Bruges (1887-1922), which would begin publishing the magazine Vers l'Art in 1905
