      <title>Vintage Telescopes</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/-c-167</link>
      <description>
We advise you to contact us prior to your purchase.

Vintage telescopes are scientific and amateur instruments from the past era. Ones they have been used for observing and research.
Sometimes it are remarkable pieces of engineering or commercial produced telescopes.

Observing with vintage telescopes gives another dimension to your astronomy experience. The telescope you use has a history and a story to tell.

Most of the telescopes we sell are in functional order. I&#039;ve tested them at the Observatoires du Clain under a dark sky.
If needed the telescopes and accessories have been restored in our own work shop.

Besides being functional instruments it are also much desired collectables.

I hope you will enjoy the selection of vintage telescopes and accessories

      <description>Uncertain voyage into space

The sky always inspired us.  From Earth or space, space exploration always gave us intriguing photos.

This exhibition shows marvelous photos from several space missions as the Apollo, Gemini and Lunar Orbiter.  Al these images are vintage NASA photos.

From earth amateur and professional astronomers observe the night sky.  Photos from observatories and observation sessions are also included in this exhibition.

Enjoy your voyage in space.

      <title>Deep Sky Objects</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/night-photography/deep-sky-objects</link>
<description>Deep Sky or the photography of the invisible

We start talking about real astrophotography in photo history when photos are more than just experiments. The start of astrophotography is situated in 1850 (Michael Maunder, the Photohistorian, 09/2005)

Photographers and astronomers of the 19th century were confronted with two restrictions when photographing stars: the low sensitivity of the Daguerrotype and the errors of the telescopes. Since the Earth turns around its axis, it&#039;s almost as if the stars evolve around an imaginary point (the polar star). Take a look at the nice picture by J.R. Eyerman, 1950. These are 2 problems that modern amateur photographers still have to cope with.

      <title>Observatories</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/night-photography/observatories</link>
      <description>
Astronomical observatories are the temples of the night. Sacred places where scientists are observing the night sky.

Telescopes are needed to photograph the night splendours. When we look at the impressive deep sky photos we are unaware of the complex and sometimes strange telescopes needed to make this images.

In this overview you can see some of the historical most important telescopes. It are all unique and vintage images.

Enjoy....

      <title>City Night</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/night-photography/city-night</link>
<description>City night or homage to the artificial light

With the introduction of artificial light it was possible to photograph the city at night. There was also something to photograph. The street lights invited people into the streets. The difference between life during the day and life at night became smaller.

Street lights also had a big disadvantage: light pollution. The satellite pictures of Belgium at night are well known: a bright triangle in the middle of Europe. Astronomers are very unhappy as their stars have become nearly invisible.

      <title>Moon Photography</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/night-photography/moon-photography</link>
<description>Selenography or the history of the Moon

Stars can only be seen at night.

Photographing astronomical objects is very closely connected to the genesis of photography itself.

In 1838, one year before the announcement of the discovery of photography, by the astronomer - politician Arago before the French parliament, the first picture of the moon was taken by Daguerre. Since the beginning of photography the medium was destined to play an important role in astronomy. Or was it vice versa?

      <title>Stereo views &amp; Lantern Slides</title>
      <link>http://www.anamorfose.be/night-photography/stereo-views-lantern-slides</link>
<description>The Sky in Stereo views &amp; Magic Lantern Slides

Lantern slides were often used in nineteenth century Astronomy courses. The slide projectors often used oxy-hydrogen or oxy-acetylene light sources, sometimes directing the flame towards a block of calcium chloride to produce a lime light.

The slides are hand painted on the reverse side and illustrated astronomical scenes. On the back of each design a circular wire holds a single sheet of glass against the wooden frame.
