Raoul Hausmann (July 12, 1886 – February 1, 1971) was an Austrian artist and writer. One of the key figures in Berlin Dada, his experimental photographic collages, sound poetry and institutional critiques would have a profound influence on the European Avant-Garde in the aftermath of World War I

En 1939, Peyrat-le-Château en Haute-Vienne voit s’installer Raoul Hausmann et sa femme, Hedwig ; là, il y rencontre Marthe Prévot qui partagera la vie du couple jusqu’à leur mort.

À l’automne 1944, Raoul Hausmann déménage à Limoges et s’installe avec Hedwig et Marthe près de la gare des Bénédictins, au 80 rue Aristide-Briand où il résidera jusqu’en 1958, année où il emménage rue Neuve-Saint-Étienne.
