This interesting series of sky maps presents the northern and southern skies. The constellations are finely engraved with figures including Orion, Gemini, Perseus, Leo, Arcturus, Hercules, Sagittarius and the Milky Way. Each hemisphere is split and illustrated on two separate sheets. Four sheets in total, paper size varies slightly.

The fourth of the nine parts of Le Spectacle de la Nature, the great popular work that Pluche devotes to nature, man and his activities, is about astronomy in the broad sense of the word, as it describes the Earth, the phenomena that are visible in the sky and only a few discoveries. in relation to the needs of human activity.

The volume is illustrated by 28 engravings made by Le Bas f. of which there are four celestial semi-planispheres in concave polar stereographic projection, with a diameter of 28 centimeters, representing the entire starry sky by collecting the stars visible to the naked eye into classes of six magnitudes.
