CSIRO solar observatory

Forgotten Solar Observatory in Australia

Between 1963 and 1987 the CSIRO Solar Observatory was one of the world's leading solar observatories.  The 30cm (12inch) sun refractor was one of the largest solar telescopes.

The scientific and photographic quality of the observatory co-workers was very high standard.

The small online exhibition is a tribute to this forgotten Solar Observatory starting with the construction of the observatory and some of the best photos of the Sun.
