A mirage, proving that seeing ain't believing
The discovery of a new set of Anonymous photos mark a turning point in the history of Anonymous Photography.
A small set of 33 photos reveal the identity of Mr. Anonyme. A student from Tuscaloosa, Alabama (US) who studied engineering in 1940.
Some of the photos show the carefree life at the university.
Others are more "artistic" still life's made in Mr. Anonyme's room. No ordinary snapshots but well composed images with a lot of respect for the subject.
Or were these photos experiments with artificial light? Light is an important issue for Mr. Anonyme. Night photos and the use of artificial light prove this research.
It's unique to find a group of anonymous photos of this quality and with this fine sense of humour.
