Rudolf von LabanRudolf von Laban (Austria, 1879 – United Kingdom, 1958) Studied art in Paris in 1907. During the First World War he lived on the Monte Verità in Switserland, a famous artists’ colony. There he was influenced by different philosophical and esoteric trends. On the Monte Verità he started his career as a choreographer and dancer. Von Laban is mainly known by the ‘Laban-notation’, and the art of movement carrying his name.
